VEYDRIS beginner guide
Everything you need for your first hour in VEYDRIS, a free dark-fantasy RPG that runs in your browser on desktop and mobile. No download needed.
1. Try the guest prologue, then make an account
You can play a short guest prologue without signing up. If you like it, register with a hero name, e-mail and password; the prologue progress carries over once. Save your recovery code when you register: during the alpha it's the reliable way back into your account.
2. Choose your oath (class)
There are eight classes, each with its own signature mechanic. New heroes pick a starter weapon from five randomly rolled level-1 weapons, and Rare or better is possible, so look at the rolls before you choose. Not sure? Read the class overview.
3. Run your first expeditions
Every map has five expedition lengths: 1, 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes, each with a daily focus such as Hunt, Treasure Run or Delve. Start with the short one. On the road your hero meets enemies, sealed chests, material caches, rare named monsters and sometimes a hidden side passage.
- Manual: the route stops at each fight and you watch it on the combat stage, then press Continue.
- Auto: the same server-side fights resolve without playback; you can read every round in the report.
4. Bring the loot home
Everything you find goes into an unsecured mission bag. A safe return secures it plus completion rewards. Retreating secures it without the bonus. A defeat on the main route loses the whole bag. Items you owned before you left are never at risk. More detail: how expeditions and risky loot work.
5. Gear up
Compare what you found, upgrade items and use the Forge to refine, reroll and craft with materials from your expeditions. Gear comes in seven rarities with rolled affixes, a visible roll-quality score and six-piece sets with 2/4/6-piece bonuses.
6. Beat the region guardian
Each of the ten regions ends at a guardian. To fight it you have to discover it, meet the region's exploration gate and reach its level. Winning opens the next chapter. Hero levels go from 1 to 80.
Beginner tips
- Retreat when your hero is low and the bag is full. A secured bag without bonus beats an empty one.
- Use Manual mode early to learn how your class fights, then switch to Auto.
- Mounts shorten travel time. Some can be rented at the stable, many only drop on the road.
- Check the rotating merchant daily and do the daily and weekly goals.
- Later: Ascendant Shards open Eternal Rifts, and Ascension gives permanent upgrades.
